I'm an Editor in book publishing. All opinions are my own.
Within the last year I've read two SUPERB YA novels that I know many of you have found also: CINDER by Marissa Meyer and GRAVE MERCY by Robin LaFevers. They are very different stories, but similar in my mind for their tremendous world-building (though one is futuristic and one historical), their fascinating political structures, and their strong, interesting heroines who have bigger problems than boys or grades or trivial matters. Romance is part of the story, but is secondary to a bigger, richer plotline. I think these are the finest works of YA I've read since THE HUNGER GAMES.
I want more YA like these! Any recommendations?
